Using Serpsoup in Claude
The connector lets Claude read the research you've saved in Serpsoup — questions, trends, briefs and optimisation plans — so you can plan and edit with the evidence beside you. It can't run new lookups, change tracking or edit anything.
Set up in five minutes
- 01
Have a paid plan
The connector reads research you have already saved, so run your lookups, track topics and create plans in Serpsoup first.
- 02
Add the connector in Claude
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it "Serpsoup" and paste https://serpsoup.com/api/public/mcp.
- 03
Sign in and approve
Claude opens a Serpsoup sign-in page. Sign in with the same account and click Approve. You can remove access at any time from Claude's connector settings.
- 04
Install the skill (optional)
Download the skill from the Integrations page and upload it in Claude under Settings → Capabilities → Skills. It teaches Claude the right order to use the tools.
- 05
Turn it on in a chat
In a new chat, open the tools menu and make sure Serpsoup is switched on. Then ask in plain English, using the prompts below.
What Claude can read
- list_topics — Your topics and keywords, with IDs Claude uses for the other tools.
- get_paa_questions — The latest saved People Also Ask questions for a keyword, and what changed since last time.
- get_keyword_trends — 90-day relative search interest and momentum (0–100, not search volume).
- list_briefs / get_content_brief — Your saved, edited content briefs for new pages.
- list_optimisation_plans / get_optimisation_plan — Your plans for improving existing pages: revised outline and prioritised changes.
- check_brief_compliance — Checks a draft for AI-sounding phrases and missing PAA questions.
Prompts to try
See what people ask
Using Serpsoup, show me the latest People Also Ask questions for my "fructose vs glucose" keyword and tell me which are new since last time.
Spot rising interest
Which of my tracked keywords have rising momentum in the last 90 days? Include the collection dates.
Work through an optimisation plan
Get my optimisation plan for the fructose page. Turn it into a checklist I can work through in my editor, section by section.
Review my edits against the plan
Here is my revised article: [paste]. Compare it with my optimisation plan and tell me which changes I've made and which are still missing. Don't rewrite it.
Check a draft before publishing
Run the brief compliance check on this draft against my brief "[brief name]" and list every flagged phrase and uncovered question.
Use it to edit, not to ghostwrite
Our plans tell you what your page is missing. The words that win are still yours: your experience, your examples, your facts. Get the most from the connector by asking Claude to:
- Turn a plan into a checklist you work through yourself
- Check your edits against the plan and point out what's still missing
- Suggest where a question fits in your existing structure
- Flag AI-sounding phrases in your draft before you publish
Troubleshooting
- "Requires Pro"
- Your account needs an active paid plan. Upgrade on the pricing page, then try again.
- "No saved plan" or empty results
- Claude only sees saved work. Create the plan or run the lookup in Serpsoup first.
- Claude says it can't find the tools
- Check Serpsoup is switched on in the chat's tools menu, or remove and re-add the connector.
