How to use OPTIMISE
Start with a published page. Compare its answers with the pages returned for a chosen search, then turn the evidence into a practical editing plan.
Open Optimise- 01Check your page
- 02Review the evidence
- 03Create an editing plan
- 01
Enter the page and audience
Open Optimise, paste your page URL and select the country. Add the search you want to target, or leave it blank to let the tool infer a starting target. Click Check page and wait for the results.
- 02
Confirm the topic target
Review the chosen search before interpreting the comparison. The target comes from your input, Search Console where available, or page content—not Google NLP. Change topic target explores a different angle and loads the evidence for that search. It does not edit your article.
- 03
Read the question matrix
Compare your page’s domain with the competitor columns. Green means fully answered in the scored extract, amber partly answered, red missing, and grey unknown or unscored. Use the competitor-count control to review more results where available.
- 04
Prioritise evidenced gaps
Focus on relevant questions where a competitor answers fully and your page does not. Untapped angles are separate: direct-search questions no scored competitor answers fully. A missing answer is not automatically worth adding; check that it belongs to your page’s purpose.
- 05
Create the optimisation plan
Click Create optimisation plan to open a saved plan in Briefs. It starts from your existing page structure and proposes prioritised changes rather than a new-page brief. Review the recommended outline, what to change and which questions to include or leave out.
- 06
Make your edits, then check again
Export the plan as Word or Markdown, or read it through the Claude connector. Make the changes in your own editor. Re-check uses saved questions and competitor URLs; choose Fresh Google questions only when you want a new collection. Track this page weekly enables ongoing checks and shows Tracking weekly once saved.
