Last updated 16 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Serpsoup ("we", "us") collects when you use serpsoup.com, why, and your rights under UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and sign-in details when you create an account.
- Research data: the topics, keywords and questions you search, track or save, and the briefs you create.
- Search logs: searched phrases and the questions returned, stored without your identity, to build aggregate statistics.
- Visitor limits: a one-way hash of your IP address, used to enforce free search limits and prevent abuse.
- Billing data: handled by our payment provider Paddle, which acts as merchant of record. We never see your full card details.
- Messages: anything you send through our contact form.
How we use it
To provide the service, run your searches and tracking, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, keep the service secure, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal data.
Service providers
We use trusted processors to run the service: hosting and database infrastructure, Paddle for payments, search data providers to fetch Google results, and AI providers to generate briefs. They only process data on our instructions.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and process payments. Optional analytics cookies are only used if you choose "Accept all". You can change your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Retention
We keep account and research data while your account is active. If you delete your account we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or tax reasons. Anonymous search statistics may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to processing. Contact us and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email.
